Hello FarmLink Project Community Member, We hope that you enjoyed your Independence Day! As a part of The FarmLink Project community, you have helped us connect over 5 million pounds of nutritional produce into the homes of people across 30 different states! Below you can see where all of this produce has been distributed.
Weekly Face of Farmlink
This week, for our Face of FarmLink feature, we would like to introduce Larry Alsum, CEO and founder of Alsum Farms & Produce.
“Growing up on a farm, I liked the farm lifestyle, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a dairy farmer,” Larry Alsum of Alsum Farms & Produce, Inc., told me over the phone from his office, having spent the previous day out in the fields...read more about Larry here.
Highlighted Farmlink Connections
80,000 pounds of potatoes from Alsum Farms & Produce in Friesland, Wisconsin to Southeast Missouri Food Bank (Sikeston, Missouri) and Midwest Food Bank (Peoria, Illinois and Indianapolis, Indiana). Read more about Midwest Food Bank and this delivery here!
108,000 eggs from High Farms LLC in Pitman, Pennsylvania to Philabundance (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Read more about this connection with Philabundance here!
More stories about the farms and food banks that The FarmLink Project has helped connect thus far can be found here.
Run by an entirely volunteer staff, The FarmLink Project uses 100% of donated funds to buy produce and pay industry workers. For every dollar donated, 10 pounds of produce are able to be rescued and delivered to communities in need! We are so excited to keep moving forward with you and the rest of The FarmLink Project community by our side! Sincerely, The FarmLink Project Team
