I first want to start off by saying Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you and your loved ones are deep into some pies and are enjoying the day however you like to celebrate.

We have been absolutely blown away by the amount of support we’ve received since launching our 10 million pounds campaign. Thousands of you have shared, donated, and connected with us with excitement around our goal. I’m writing to you now (from my grandmother’s house) to say, with incredible sincerity, thank you.

We’re so excited to share that since October 23rd, when we started this race to ten million, we have delivered nine million pounds — which is, in fact, an extraordinary amount of fresh, quality food. Many factors come into play with food recovery at this time of year, including seasonal transitions in harvest timing as well as some volatility with imported produce.

But don’t worry — our team is working hard and on track to hit our ambitious goal in the next few days. For today, though, we remain incredibly grateful for your support and exceptionally proud of how much we’ve accomplished.

Our work doesn’t take a break. Not hitting our ten million pounds goal by this evening has only ignited in us even more drive and desire to move more food to more communities. With each day, we are rewriting how our food system works; we’re filling in cracks and connecting links to ensure everyone has access to the food they need and deserve. This is only done with relentless positivity, inclusivity, and collaboration — and that is what we proceed with today.

Trust that our efforts will continue to move food today, tomorrow, and all the days after. Thank you again for your powerful support thus far, and Happy Thanksgiving.
