On August 5th, The Farmlink Project facilitated a 34,000-pound delivery of cauliflower from Bengard Ranch in Salinas, California to the American Heart Association in Los Angeles, California.

The Bengard family has been in the Salinas area since the late 1850s, and have grown to be one of the largest growers and shippers of vegetables in the United States. This large farming operation grows and supplies many different varieties of lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower throughout California, Arizona, and Florida.

The cauliflower was shipped to Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles to then be distributed by the American Heart Association. Banc of California Stadium is a 22,000-seat soccer venue; home to LA’s major soccer league team.

The American Heart Association was founded in 1924 and is now the nation’s largest voluntary organization for heart disease and stroke. We are grateful to family-operated farms like Bengard Ranch for continuing the growth and legacy. We would like to thank the American Heart Association for all the work they do and being able to reach thousands of people in need.
